Course Content
In this workshop you will study how to create the value and shape of the boulders using only 2 colours: Paynes’ Grey and Burnt Umber.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of watercolour skill.
Zoom will be used to host live interactive class. After the class every participant will get a private access to a full Zoom class recordings with all questions and discussions.
The online study process will be simple, stress free and understandable for every student.

The video watercolour course “Northern Landscapes” for beginners contains 6 lessons. The course covers the basics of the watercolour technique Ala Prima. You will learn step by step how to work with the intriguing and unpredictable media of Watercolour. You will learn how to feel the “power” of your brushes. How to be brave and more confident with them. You will become familiar with Ala Prima and wet-on-wet watercolour painting techniques. You will understand how to create beautiful and simple landscapes using minimum colours on your palette. There will be a lots of exercise that will help you to become confident in landscape painting.

Materials that you need for this workshop:
watercolour paper - 100% cotton for the best result
watercolour paints - paint in tube for the best result:
- Payne's Grey
- Burne Umber
White gouache or Bleed Proof White (dr. Ph. Martin's)
watercolour brushes:
- big flat brush (40 mm)
- round mop brush (10-13 mm)
- detailed brush (3-5 mm)
- flat brush for lifting 20-24 mm
Plexiglass board (slightly large then your paper) or any board that wet paper will cling on it. You can use glass, mirror or flat cooking tray
Fine water spray - optional (Nano Mister - for the best results)
Two jars with water
Paper towel
Printer paper, pencil and eraser
Hair dryer
Glass of wine or two
