Fresh Air Spring Landscape
This course will take your watercolour paintings to the next level. You will learn about how to represent the different stages and states of Spring water and sky. You will study colour combinations you can use to create the perfect illusion of various atmospheric conditions and temperatures of the air. You will learn how to use the characteristics of watercolour paint and combine them with different mediums.
You will be practising a loose watercolour style of fast pencil free sketching using only your brushes. This style is perfect for fast painting during plain air sessions or for sketch booking, or journaling.
The 5 week in-studio “Spring Landscapes” course covers the basics of the watercolour technique Ala Prima. You will learn step by step how to work with the intriguing and unpredictable media of Watercolour. You will learn how to feel the “power” of your brushes, how to be brave and more confident with them. You will become familiar with Ala Prima and wet-on-wet watercolour painting techniques. You will understand how to create beautiful and simple landscape sketches using only your brushes, without pencil drawing. There will be many exercises that will help you to become confident in fast landscape sketching.
By the end of this course you will have at least four finished paintings along with many small sketches and exersises.
This course is suitable for all levels of watercolour skill. Although some experience would help you to feel more comfortable.
You will get access to all references and templates a few days before the starting date. Please print them or make sure that they will be available at your device(s) for use during the class.
