This is the second watercolour tutorial from the series Cozy November.

In this tutorial you will create a beautiful Fall scene of a cup of coffee, a book and dry leaves. You will learn how to create the texture of the knitted fabric and illusion of bubbles on the coffee foam.

Materials that I am going to use during this workshop:

This list is only for your information, there is no need to get exactly what I am using:

Watercolour paper:

  • Arches watercolour paper, cotton, rough, 300 gm2

Watercolour brushes;
- Round # 10-12,  Paul Rubens

- Flat synthetic brush 3/4  Escoda

Calligraphy brush, 5 mm

- Rigger round brush, 2mm, Escoda

Artistic tape;

Watercolour board (the board which you will tape your watercolour paper to);

Watercolour palette with a large surface for mixing pigments. Alternatively, you can use a white ceramic plate. 

A Pencil  2B and Eraser (kneadable);

A thick liner, black, 0,5 - 1,00 mm (MICRON size 1 or 08, or LAMY Safary fountain ink pen with broad nib )

White pen (SAKURA Gelly Roll pen 08)

Two large jars for water;

Paper towels;

Sea sponge (optional);

Hair dryer

 

Watercolour paints: 

Light ecru (Buff Titanium, Daniel Smith)

Light Yellow (Lemon Yellow, Daniel Smith)

Warm Yellow (Yellow Ochre, Daniel Smith)

Orange (Orange Transporante, Schminske)

Red (optional)

Bright Rusty (Burnt Sienna, Daniel Smith)

Dark brown (Burnt Umber, Van Gogh)

Olive Green (Van Gogh)

Light Blue (Cerulean Blue, Van Gogh) 

Ultramarine (Ultramarine, Daniel Smith)

Magenta (Magenta, Daniel Smith)

Violet (Royal Violet, Daniel Smith)

Black blue (Indigo, Grumbacher)

Black Grey (Paynes Grey or Neutral Tint, Daniel Smith)

 

White Gouache (optional)
