Lesson 2. In the Park Copy

In this class you will explore park habitats. You will do sketches of trees, people and birds. You will try to capture the illusion of the Spring atmosphere of fresh breezes and soft sun rays.

Exercise 1. Visual walk in the park

Take your time, and go for a walk in a nearby park. You can take photos of the trees or just observe the shapes and forms of the branches that you can see. The photos below were taken in my garden in early Spring when there were no leaves. You can clearly see the “traveling” lines of the branches.

Try to get a large collection of images in your “visual library” because in the next exercise we are going to do a fast sketch of a tree from memory. Of course, if you find this difficult you can use any sort of reference.

Meanwhile, just enjoy your walk!
