“Between The Currents”
This painting belongs to the In-Between series as a moment suspended within urban energy, where the city flows through the body, but the heart walks alone.
This work captures the paradox of the city: relentless motion paired with quiet isolation.
Figures dissolve into shadows, carried by the rushing current of the street, while one presence lingers, slightly slower, slightly heavier, resisting the pull of speed. Buildings lean inward, as if breathing with the crowd, their edges blurred by movement and time.
Here, downtown Ottawa becomes not a place, but a sensation: the vibration of footsteps, the hum of passing lives, the feeling of being surrounded yet unseen. The street moves forward without pause, while the inner world stands still—listening, observing, existing in the narrow space between belonging and solitude.
